Description

Miscanthus  Volcano ('Vica 21'®)

Concentrated power. An explosion of bloom.

Those who take it easy with nitrogen will get the best result. Then the Volcano remains more collected and nicely compact. The bloom then remains very full and rich, but lower above the leafy wig. A little potting soil (with clay) is desirable in a sandy location.

The overall appearance of miscanthus Volcano can vary from slightly upright to more round and spherical, with gracefully hanging leaves. Towards the end of August, Volcano sets off for an explosion of bloom with increasingly fuller and more vigorous swelling buds in the first instance. Until the leaf sheath bursts open. Volcano loves the sun and sunny weather.

The inflorescences slowly emerge as beautiful full dark red corkscrew curls and retain their color for weeks. Over time, the flower panicles become lighter and fluffier. They provide beautiful effects for months on end, especially with a little low sun. Even more so from the moment that the autumn colors start to appear in the leaves.

Miscanthus Volcano is also beautiful for a long time in winter. Very hardy ornamental grass that thrives in a variety of conditions. Miscanthus will tolerate some shade. Volcano is suitable for both the pot and the border.

The height of this selection can vary from 80 cm to 1.40 m.
